2021 AA Seminar Program Reports Available

Two Alumni Association Seminars were awarded in FY20 and took place in 2021. Their reports are now available and can be found on the AA Seminar Program Awardee History page.

  • One Health, One World Day – Global One Health effects of low-level radiation on human health (Nov 3, 2021): Hosted by the Institute for Global Health at Michigan State University, this first annual symposium on the One Health method covered radiation’s effects on global health across countries including the US, Vietnam, Nicaragua, and Japan.

  • Arsenic: From the environment to medicine (Nov 9, 2021): Organized by Dr. Barry P. Rosen at Florida International University, the seminar discussed how investigation into arsenic contamination in rice led to the discovery of a new arsenic-containing antibiotic. The method has potential applications in cancer treatment and was extensively discussed between researchers from Japan and Florida.

Congratulations to the seminar organizers for pulling off these events under challenging circumstances!

Applications for FY21 AA Seminars have closed. We will share an update when FY22 applications open, and look forward to your submissions at that time.
