The Association

Mission

Our mission is to provide interdisciplinary networking opportunities for Japan Society for the Promotion of Science program and fellowship alumni that range across science, technology, and the humanities.  We achieve this mission through a variety of means - from producing a newsletter, collaborating on research, and holding Multidisciplinary Science Forums in partnership with the US JSPS Washington Office; the first Multidisciplinary Science Forum was held on March 11, 2011, at University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Hundreds of JSPS fellows have returned to the United States and the US JSPS Alumni Association stands eager to welcome you back. Also, many researchers from other countries are now in the US after their tenure in Japan. All are invited to join the US JSPS Alumni Association.

History

The US JSPS Alumni Association launched in Spring 2004 at the "Junbi-Iinkai" meeting in Washington, D.C. At that time, over 30 fellows volunteered to establish an alumni association. Today, there are over 200 members across the US.
